Smilegate announced on Wednesday, the 24th, that it has launched a new episode titled The One Faced the Ends of the Abyss as part of the winter update for Lost Ark, South Korea’s flagship MMORPG.

The newly added episode brings Part 1 of Lost Ark’s long-running journey to a dramatic close, culminating in the final confrontation with Kazeros. The story unfolds around Armen and Kazeros, as the Arks are finally activated at the end of the light-guided journey, revealing secrets long hidden by the Arks themselves.

The primary setting for this story is a land where Kazeros, the Lord of the Abyss, first set foot upon arriving on the chaos star Petrania long ago. It was here that chaos was subdued and order was reestablished. Additionally, Trixion—where all seven Arks have been gathered—awaits adventurers, ready to illuminate the primordial light.

To unlock the episode, adventurers must reach item level 1680 and complete the necessary prior missions in Rimeria.

In celebration of Christmas and the New Year, Smilegate is hosting a Hot-time Event running until January 5th. During the event period, players can receive various rewards tailored to each date for every hour they remain logged in. 

Furthermore, the ‘A Christmas Card from Someone’ event will run until January 7th. By completing missions, players can receive Christmas gifts prepared by a mysterious sender. This event consists of sequential daily quests, with one quest available per day.
