Smilegate announced on Monday, the 25th, that AG.AL, representing China’s league, defeated Baisha Gaming 3–2 in the finals of the CROSSFIRE tournament at the “Esports World Cup 2025” (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to claim the championship title.
In the semifinals, Baisha Gaming advanced first by sweeping Team Stallion from the Philippines 2–0. On Ankara in the opening set, Lin “LYE” Ye controlled the pace with sharp sniping. In the second set on Sub Base, Wang “N9” Hao and Chen “577” Jinwei provided steady firepower, leading Baisha to a 13–9 overtime victory and into the finals.
In the second semifinal, AG.AL displayed composure against last year’s world champions, Evolution Power Gaming. On Port, Yang “Jwei” Jiawei pulled off a clutch while low on health to turn the tide, as Zhang “ZQ” Chen and Meng “Doo” Kun followed with multi-kills to win 10–7. On Ankara, AG.AL never lost control and closed the set 10–5, booking their ticket to the finals.
In the third-place match, Evolution Power Gaming defeated Team Stallion 2–0 to secure third place. On Eagle Eye 2.0, Stallion surged ahead 8–3, but Jiang “xqq” Ke and Zhao “Mino” Lumin led a comeback to win 13–11. On Compound, Li “ZAY” Zhekai and Jiang “xqq” Ke carried momentum to finish 10–7, clinching third place. Although Team Stallion placed fourth, they left a strong impression on the international stage.
The grand finals were a clash between two Chinese CROSSFIRE powerhouses. In the first set on Ankara, Baisha Gaming struck first with a dominant 10–1 win led by Wang “N9” Hao and Ren “YDSS” Hongyu. AG.AL immediately responded, however. On Black Widow, Meng “Doo” Kun and Yang “Jwei” Jiawei delivered clutch plays to win 10–4. On Eagle Eye 2.0, Doo and Zhang “ZQ” Chen landed decisive kills to secure another 10–4 win. In the fourth set on Compound, Chen “577” Jinwei’s heroics gave Baisha a 10–8 victory to force a decider. But on Port, AG.AL was unstoppable. Chu “1222” Ruizhe delivered a key clutch and anchored the defense, finishing the half 6–3 before shutting out Baisha in the second half for a 10–3 win to capture the championship.
After the victory, Zhang “ZY” Ye of AG.AL said, “No matter how difficult the circumstances or results, victory and reward will always come eventually,” expressing his joy. Finals MVP Meng “Doo” Kun added, “Many thought I could only use the M200 sniper rifle, but this EWC was a chance to prove I can handle a variety of weapons. I gave my all not to disappoint the fans, and this championship is the result of our entire team’s effort.”
With the win, AG.AL earned $750,000 in prize money and 1,000 club points, moving up to 6th place in the global club rankings. Runner-up Baisha Gaming received $350,000, Evolution Power Gaming took $210,000 for third, and Team Stallion earned $130,000 for fourth.
