[2020-0312] Smilegate Stove (CEO Han Young-woon) and CPs (contents provider) decided not to receive a commission for two months in March and April from affiliates of 'STOVE VR', a platform dedicated to VR stores.

Smilegate Stove decided to waive the full-service fee in March and April for all STOVE VR affiliates who was struggling with management due to corona19 prolongation and announced it to all branches. Major CP companies that develop and supply VR games to STOVE VR will also join the support for affiliates.

STOVE VR is a VR store-only platform that provides a one-stop service from distribution of various VR games to customer management programs. It offers to affiliates more than 80 types of VR contents, largest in Korea, through review of copyright contracts and deliberation from the Game Rating and Administration Committee.

While exempting service fees for affiliates, Smilegate Stove will preserve the profits in full to all CP companies that supply VR game contents to affiliates.

Smilegate Stove decided to pay the VR game service supply fee instead of the affiliates, which should be initially paid to all CP companies, even though the game usage fee sales did not occur. It is because the management difficulties caused by the spread of COVID-19 are not only for affiliates but also for CP companies, Smilegate Stove explained.

Major CP companies also took the lead in cooperation for this win-win cooperation. They are willing to put up with their damage and join the support for affiliates. Although CP companies are also experiencing management difficulties due to a decrease in utilization rates, they have practised win-win by voluntarily cutting 30% of game supply fee sales for affiliated companies with more considerable problems.

In this win-win support cooperation, 3 CPs participated. ▲ Geniesoft, developer of VR K-POP rhythm game' Beat Smash' ▲ AIX Lab, developer of the popular horror experience VR game 'Haunted House; ▲ Devolver Digital, publisher of the well known VR FPS 'Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope'.

"The decision to waive the fee for using Smilegate Stove will be the first practice for the game service platform to cooperate with CPs to help affiliates," said Han Young-woon, CEO of Smilegate Stove. "Of course, we will continue to seek ways to cooperate with various business partners."
