STOVE Indie Launches “Yooka-Laylee” in Korea with Events! 2021-07-08

[2021-0708] Smilegate STOVE (CEO Han Young Woon) announced on the 8th (Thursday) that it has launched two games of the "Yooka-Laylee" series, platform games developed by British developer Playtonic. 

“Yooka-Laylee” and “Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair” are two series platform games in which developers of “Donkey Kong Country” participated in. The series features the cute duo Yooka and Laylee, who fight against “Capital B” who is trying to take over the Honeybee Kingdom. The developer “Playtonic” is famous for its art, characters, and audio. The soundtracks for Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie feature tracks from famous composers such as David Wise and Grant Kirkhope. 

“Yooka-Laylee” is a 3D platform game that allows for beautiful landscapes and freedom with its open-world style. It is a well-made game that does not get old with continuous play through puzzles, mini arcade games, and collections. 

The sequel "Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair" will be available in Korean on STOVE Indie. Previous users of Yooka-Laylee will be able to dive into the game further and enjoy the humor of the game. Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair spans 2.5D and 3D, offering a different story from its predecessor. In addition to the fun of playing each stage, solving various 3D puzzles in "Overworld" and the switch function that changes the map completely allows for enjoyable repeated play. There is also fun in acquiring hidden collections from stages and rescuing the queen's honeybee army to help you beat the [Impossible Lair] challenge. 

STOVE Indie will offer up to 80% off the game for the launch of the Yooka-Laylee series. The Koreanized “Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair” is also available at a 60% discount. 

In commemoration of its launch, famous game streamers will introduce the game and give out special coupons to viewers. Streamers like "Oknyangi" and "Flurry" will broadcast the game on Twitch on the 9th. STOVE Indie will watch the broadcast and give out Yooka-Laylee game coupons to viewers who participate in the event post.
