[2026-0918] On
Friday the 18th, Smilegate announced that its mobile turn-based strategic RPG
"Epic Seven," developed by Super Creative, is joining forces with the
company's popular IP, "Chaos Zero Nightmare" (hereafter CZN), for a
special collaboration.
CZN is a dark
fantasy roguelike RPG serviced by Smilegate. It has gained massive popularity
for its shocking presentation dealing with characters' mental breakdowns and
trauma, along with its unique card-based roguelike combat system. During this
collaboration, which runs from September 17 to October 29, a Special Side Story
will be available, and key Combatants from CZN will be introduced as Epic Seven
Heroes. Additionally, various celebration events have been prepared.
The Limited
Side Story, "Journey of the Stars: Homeward Bound," depicts the
adventure of Renoa, Haru, and Mei Lin from the CZN universe as they suddenly
arrive in Epic Seven's world of Orbis and attempt to return to their original
world with the help of Vivian, the leader of the megacity Witchaven.
In the first
week, Haru and Renoa will be released as Epic Seven Heroes. The limited Hero
Haru is a 5★ Ice elemental Warrior who can increase survivability by granting a
barrier and "Indomitable" to allies, while unleashing a powerful
attack that penetrates the Defense of a single target. Renoa is a 5★ Dark
elemental Ranger Hero. Her standout feature is the ability to grant herself the
unique effect "Dirge Bullet," increasing her Speed and Critical Hit
Damage, and dealing massive damage proportional to the number of Dirge Bullets
granted. Renoa can be obtained by anyone through a special Check-In Event.
Events to
celebrate the collaboration will also be held. In particular, the special
Check-In Event will offer the collaboration Hero Renoa and various growth
materials as rewards. The "Witchaven Daily Epione Center," modeled
after CZN's "Epione Center" system, will also be introduced. In this
event, individual stories of the collaboration Heroes will unfold, and various
rewards, including Exclusive Equipment, will be provided.
Meanwhile,
"Dimensional Exploration," Epic Seven's first roguelike content, has
also been updated. This mode allows players to utilize up to 7 Heroes to
explore the map and defeat bosses across 3 floors. It offers a highly dynamic
experience where every run changes based on the player's choices, such as the
paths taken at crossroads, Relic usage, and Hero compositions. The first season
will be set against the backdrop of the CZN collaboration, with future seasons
planned to feature a variety of themes.
