Smilegate announced on Wednesday, the 19th, that Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN), the dark fantasy roguelike RPG developed by Super Creative and published by Smilegate, has launched the new Galactic Disaster Season 4 story, “The Black Panther Left Uncared For,” along with a host of new content.
The Black Panther Left Uncared For is the second story of Galactic Disaster Season 4. In this new story, the protagonists accept an invitation from the infamous mercenary group Black Spica and board the luxurious ark, SS Deneb, where they become entangled in a series of dangerous incidents. Players can play the new story and Season 4 Chaos to earn currency that can be exchanged for various items at the Supply Store, including “Omega Code,” a material used for Combatant Ego Manifestation (Limit Break).
Two key characters from the new story, “Arabella” and “Licinia,” join the game as a Combatant and Partner, respectively. Arabella is the leader of Black Spica, an alluring yet dangerous femme fatale who excels at inflicting “Fracture,” a debuff that deals damage to enemies at the end of each turn and steadily wears them down over time. As a Seasonal Combatant, Arabella is only available for a limited time through September 9. Licinia is a Partner who increases her assigned Combatant's Critical Chance whenever they inflict Fracture.
The update also introduces the first half of the “Great Rift,” the game’s competitive ranking mode, alongside updates such as automatic record saving and new Amplified Effects. In addition, the new “Save Data Download System” allows players to obtain Save Data for free or purchase it, with Equipment and Cards tailored to each Combatant's characteristics, significantly reducing the time required for progression.
A new season of “Full-Scale Offensive,” a combat mode where players form three teams for battle, has also begun. The update additionally introduces the “Clear Formation” system, which allows players to view the team compositions used by top-scoring players in Full-Scale Offensive.
A variety of special events are also being held to celebrate the new story and Combatant updates. Running through September 9, the “Primal Desire” event lets players interrogate key characters alongside Arabella to earn a variety of in-game rewards. In addition, Week 2 of the “Beach Café Festival” event has begun, continuing the Combatants' special summer stories.
Kim Joo Hyung, Head of Business at Smilegate, stated, “We hope players enjoy the new Seasonal Combatant Arabella and her dangerous charm, as well as the new story in which she plays a major role. We also hope players experience firsthand the improvements brought by the new systems introduced to make the Great Rift and Full-Scale Offensive more convenient to play.”
