[2026-0824] On Monday the 24th, Smilegate announced that its mobile turn-based strategic RPG "Epic Seven," developed by Super Creative, has revealed new content and event details, including the opening of its Steam store page, through its 8th Anniversary Showcase video, "Infinity."

The showcase video premiered at noon on Saturday, the 22nd, on the official Epic Seven YouTube channel. Project Director Tak Gwang-Jin and Development Director Heo Dae-Gyun, who oversee the planning and development of Epic Seven, appeared in the video to share upcoming update plans and details on participatory offline events for the game's 8th anniversary.

The most eye-catching news from the video was Epic Seven's launch on Steam. Epic Seven will officially launch on Steam later this year. This platform expansion is in response to global players' demand for a Steam release. In preparation, the Steam store page opened on the 22nd, kicking off a Wishlist Event that rewards players with various currencies and items based on the number of players who add the game to their wishlist. Players will be able to play on Steam using STOVE's account transfer feature. A new server will also be available in time for the official Steam launch. For a limited time, the new server will operate with a separate matchmaking pool for new players. Additionally, it was announced that the Steam version will also support controllers, offering players an additional way to enjoy the game. The exact launch date will be revealed at a later time.

Details of various 8th anniversary updates were also revealed. A new Side Story episode, "Paradise Lost," which covers the very first world of the Epic Seven universe in which the world is repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, will begin on the 27th. New Heroes, including "Lisette" and "Uncharted Pioneer Politis," will also be introduced in succession. A collaboration with another popular Smilegate IP, "Chaos Zero Nightmare" (CZN), is also on the way. Key combatants from CZN will be added as Epic Seven Heroes, and a new roguelike PVE mode called "Dimensional Exploration" is set to be introduced. Meanwhile, a new real-time PVP mode, "The Call of Chaos," will be added to the World Arena. Players can look forward to unpredictable matches every round by selecting powerful effects known as "Fate" during battles.

Among the quality-of-life improvements, the introduction of offline Background Battling (Repeat Battling) drew particular attention. With the addition of this feature, players will be able to farm growth materials through repeat battling while offline, which is expected to further reduce the burden of Hero progression.

Details on offline events planned for the remainder of the year were also revealed. On Saturday, August 29, the "Eternal Heir Festival" will be held on the 12th floor of the Hyundai Department Store in Sinchon, Korea, with around 160 players in attendance. Project Director Tak Gwang-Jin and Development Director Heo Dae-Gyun will attend the event in person to interact with players. In addition, a collaboration cafe will be set up on the B2 floor of the Hyundai Department Store in Sinchon, Korea for about a month, from the 29th to September 30. Furthermore, the "Epic Seven World Championship (E7WC 2026)," a global esports tournament to determine the strongest player in the Epic Seven World Arena, will kick off with in-game preliminaries on September 12. The Grand Final is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 28, at the SUPER PLEX theater in Lotte World Tower, Jamsil, Korea.

Meanwhile, a series of 8th Anniversary events offering generous rewards will begin on August 27, offering up to 1,260 Free Covenant Summons and giving all players the New Moon Luna: Majestic Bunny Girl skin, which took 1st place in the player popularity poll.
