It was announced on the 10th (Thu.) that CFS, the most prestigious CROSSFIRE e-Sports competition held by Smilegate Entertainment (CEO: Jang Ina ), won a bronze prize in the China Content Marketing Awards.

With CFS celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, Smilegate became the first Korean game company to win a bronze prize at the China Content Marketing Awards, which was awarded in the brand value marketing category of the sports marketing group. Hosted by the China Advertising Association of Commerce, the China Content Marketing Awards has been held since 2011. In 2024, approximately 2,000 entries competed for prizes in 155 categories under eight award groups. In addition to CFS, the winners include leading brands such as NIKE, Mercedes Benz, Taobao and China Mobile.

Started in Chengdu, China, in 2013, the CFS Grand Finals is the most prestigious of all CROSSFIRE e-Sports competitions held in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other locations in China. In particular, last year’s event attracted as many as 10,000 visitors during the three-day period and garnered over 630 million views for various CFS-related promotions on social network platforms.

The diverse and innovative marketing activities included CFS CGI that adorned the downtown area of and sky over Chengdu, large-scale offline 3D screens, subway train wrappings, satellite flash and “SWAT Panda,” an IP developed through collaboration with the Chengdu Research base of Giant Panda Breeding using Chengdu’s symbol, the panda. These were thought to have elevated CFS’ brand value through sports marketing. In addition, with its excellence highly evaluated, CFS won a silver prize in the event marketing category of the cultural marketing group, and the game category of the entertainment group.

BRADY YEO of Smilegate director said, “CFS, which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, competed in the China Content Marketing Awards for the first time this year following its win at the Tiger Roar Awards.
