Smilegate Opens Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2024! 2024-07-10

■ Will embark on a long journey of approximately 2 months from preliminaries starting on the 6th to the final on 31st of August  

■ All matches to be broadcast through online channels in 4 languages (Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese) 

Epic Seven, a global hit mobile RPG developed by Super Creative and serviced by Smilegate, announced on the 5th (Fri.) the opening of the Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2024 (E7WC 2024), a real-time global competition of the best PVP players, on the 6th. 

E7WC 2024 is a global esports event participated by the strongest “World Arena” contenders among users in the five server zones of Korea, global, Asia, Japan and Europe where Epic Seven is serviced. To win the prizemoney of USD 100,000 (approx. KRW 136 million), the competitors will embark on an epic journey over around two months.  

Through the in-game tryouts held from the 8th to the 23rd of last month, at least 8 to 16 players in each server zone advanced to the preliminary round based on their integrated rankings. The qualifiers will compete for the seeding in the main event over two weeks from the 6th to the 14th this month. The seeding consists of 8 spots in total, which are divided into 2 for Korea, 2 for global, 2 for Asia, 1 for Japan and 1 for Europe. The 8 players with seeding will have their opponents decided at the drawing ceremony on July 20, and the finalists will be selected from the 3rd to the 11th of next month. 

The long-awaited final will be held at V.SPACE Studio in Dongdaemun, Seoul on August 31. The game users can view the match by purchasing ticket. In addition to holding various on-site events, Smilegate plans to open the Hope Donation Campaign booth, an official merchandise shop and the User Creation Market as part of its effort for social contribution.

All matches of E7WC 2024 will be broadcast live through the official Epic Seven YouTube and Twitch channels (in English only).  For this global festival, broadcasting service in various languages, such as not only Korean but also English, traditional Chinese and Japanese, will also be provided. In Korea, Lee Dong-jin, a famous esports caster, Park Jin-yeong, a professional player-turned-commentator, and Kwangjun, an Epic Seven official creator, will broadcast the matches. In addition, overseas creators including GCLEF, Car_6 and Jenazad who played an active role in the previous event will deliver the vivid atmosphere of the event. 

As the matches are broadcast online, a wide range of events have also been organized. The game users can win the game commodities, such as Leif and Gold, by opening gift boxes using codes provided through the match broadcasting. Additional gifts are presented to the viewers of the official YouTube channel. From the main round, special events like match result prediction will also be held.
