Smilegate Foundation (Chairman Hyuk-bin Kwon) announced the launch of the first gamification donation platform, HEEMANGSTUDIO, in Korea on October 24.

The new donation platform, HEEMANGSTUDIO, is an innovative participation platform where partner companies, donors, and game users can work together to resolve social issues. The platform integrates game IPs and game operating elements into with donations and volunteer activities in collaboration with the partner companies to allow everyone to easily participate in donation activities in an entertaining manner. Donors can increase their levels within the platform based on activities to achieve certain ranks and can feel the joy of donating and a sense of accomplishment from volunteering, just as if they are playing a game.

The newly unveiled donation platform mainly consists of two services: ‘FUNding’ for donations and ‘HEALing’ for volunteer activities. In addition, the platform features the ‘Suggestion’ function, which allows users to directly make suggestions for public service activities to resolve social issues.

Notably, the platform has improved the services necessary for users to participate in public service activities by implementing an easy payment system, etc., to improve user convenience. Users can now participate in donation activities using ‘STOVE Points’ accumulated on the game platform ‘STOVE.’

The new donation platform currently has major game developers such as Wemade Play, Devsisters, and Joycity as partner companies. HEEMANGSTUDIO is planning to further systemize the public service programs and gradually expand relevant contents with its partner companies in the future.

There will also be a launch celebration event. Users can participate in the quiz event on the launch celebration promotion webpage to leave replies with congratulatory messages for the launch of the platform, and a lottery will be held with winner receiving bags from an eco-friendly brand.

Smilegate Foundation Team Leader Yeon-ju Kwon stated, “We hope that our newly unveiled HEEMANGSTUDIO Platform can build a ‘better future’ by helping users and donors to joyfully participate in resolving social issues, feel a sense of accomplishment, and spread a message of hope to future generations.”

Meanwhile, Smilegate Foundation has previously collaborated with approximately 70 game IPs to launch donation campaigns. As a result, approximately 80,000 children and youth from vulnerable social groups have received benefits until now. Back in September, Hope Studio became the first company in the Korean IT and gaming industries to be ranked at the highest tier in the nonprofit foundation evaluation by GuideStar Korea, so the foundation’s efficiency and transparency in terms of operations have now been certified by an external institution.
