The game’s popularity is exhibited by the list of ‘Top Downloads,’ and you can see various positive reviews of ‘Sierra Squad’ on the US online community website Reddit. There are reviews such as, ‘I am completely into Sierra Squad,’ ‘It’s the greatest wave shooter game since Robo Recall,’ and ‘I had a great time with my friends.’ These show that the various missions and modes in the game, including the campaign missions and horde mode where four players can play together, are being received positively by users.
With positive reviews across the global VR market, ‘Sierra Squad’ cruised its way to the Grand Prize for the “Sony PlayStation Game – VR/AR” category at the NYX Game Awards. The NYX Game Awards is an award ceremony established by the International Awards Associate (IAA) for the global gaming industry, and aside from ‘Sierra Squad,’ titles including ‘God of War: Ragnarok’ and ‘Starfield’ won awards in other categories.
Meanwhile, the studio that developed ‘Sierra Squad’ is currently working on optimization and compatibility improvement for the PCVR version of the game, which is currently being serviced as an early access version, as the studio pushes forward for the official launch of the game. During the Steam early access period, the studio has fulfilled its promise to users by improving HMD compatibility and improving the controller angle and optimization for Valve Index, PICO, and VIVE, and has addressed various other user requests such as fixing the initial UX and game balance, initially opening in realism mode, adding public rooms for multiplayer, and synchronizing the haptic suit.
Currently, the ‘Sierra Squad’ PSVR2 title can be purchased at the PlayStation Store, and the PCVR early access version of the game, which supports nine devices including the Oculus, Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Windows MR, can be purchased on Steam.
