Autumn has settled in, and only the last three months of the year remain.
It's still a little early to wrap up the year, but Chuseok is a good time to slow down and look back on the days gone by. For the holiday, Smilegate created a time for its employees to fill their hearts with happy memories. It's called the "Smile-Filled Rice Mill" (Smile Hangadeuk Jeongmiso).

Employees shared laughter and warm wishes with their colleagues, and enjoyed delicious food and fresh fun.
Just as a rice mill strips the husks from grain and leaves only the precious kernels, the "Smile-Filled Rice Mill" was a place to keep the memories worth treasuring and to lighten the weight that had piled up in the corner of one's heart. It was a day to reflect on the mind, move the body, and fill up on a hearty meal.
Here's a look at the "Smile-Filled Rice Mill," which opened this autumn on the Smilegate campus.
STEP 1. Stick Your Heart on the Wall, and You'll Receive a Yeopjeon Coin
The first step into the rice mill was a quiet moment of sorting through one's thoughts, much like gazing up at the Chuseok full moon, by writing them down on a full moon card.
Each card has two spaces. In one, employees wrote what they wanted to keep in their hearts, and in the other, what they wanted to shake off.
"I want to keep my health and shake off my worries."
"I want to let go of lingering regrets and keep my passion."

For some, what they wanted to keep was happiness and good health. For others, it was memories with the people they had shared time with. On the other hand, past mistakes, worries, and the fatigue built up in a busy daily routine may have been things they were ready to set down for a while.
card by card, each one gathered its own moment in time.
After writing down their thoughts and sticking the card on a pillar of the rice mill, employees received a single small yeopjeon coin.
Now it was time to take that coin and look a little deeper into their own hearts.
STEP 2. The Machine That Finds the Grain in Your Heart: the "Heart Polisher"
Coins in hand, employees headed to the "Heart Polisher" (Maeum Dojeonggi), set up in one corner of the rice mill.
Using the Heart Polisher is simple.

These are three choices that compare the stages of rice milling to the heart. There is no right answer. Good memories and regrettable ones alike are the time that has made up this year. Keep as much as you need, and let go of as much as you need, for who you are right now.
When the rattling, whirring milling is done, a "Milling Complete" screen appears, along with two exchange vouchers and a different message depending on the milling stage you chose.
"Take it just half as hard today!
Lift about half the to-do's and emotional burdens from a day packed with busyness.
Add a spoonful of leisure to the space left behind. It's okay to slow down and rest for a while this Chuseok!"
Once your heart feels a little lighter, it's time to refill the space you've cleared with good things.
STEP 3. Now That You've Milled, It's Time to Fill Up Hearty
The "abundance" of Hangawi may not come simply from having a lot.
Sharing delicious food, and taking a moment to chat and laugh together, are the ordinary moments that fill our hearts too.

With vouchers in hand, employees visited the Deundeun Tteok House (Deundeun Tteokjip), where they could choose between black sesame injeolmi and mugwort injeolmi, and enjoy a glass of chilled sikhye on the side. A combination of soft, chewy injeolmi made fresh that morning and sweet sikhye was just what you'd expect from a rice mill, and it brought out the warm, familiar mood of the holiday.
The Smile-Filled Supermarket, Overflowing with Sweet Snacks
Near the lobby greenhouse stood the Smile-Filled Supermarket (Hangadeuk Supermarket), with shelves piled high with nostalgic snacks.
Picking out snacks one by one, such as Corn Chip, Choco Songi, Kancho, and Milk Caramel, brought back fond and funny memories of agonizing for ages over which snack to choose at the neighborhood store as a kid. One voucher let you take home a generous armful of whatever snacks you liked.

STEP 4. A Light Refresh for the Mind: The Mind & Body Threshing Floor
Now that your mind has been milled, it's time to shake off the stress built up in your body.
Even familiar gonggi stones are a little different at a game company. The cute, keycap-shaped stones were engraved with words like "Love," "Luck," "Happiness," and "Abundance." Throwing and catching the stones as if snatching up good fortune, employees discovered a little bit of luck for the day through the word that landed in their hands.

A "Mouse Mini Curling" game also made an appearance, a fun twist on a familiar pastime in true game-company style.
Slide a mouse stone down a long table, and if it stops closest to the "FINISH" line, you win!
The key to victory was which mouse you picked, and word has it that the cute Shin-chan-shaped mouse was the most popular.
Together, Chalttteok-Kongtteok: Three Hearts Must Align to Win!
"Together, Chalttteok-Kongtteok" (Dahamkke Chalttteok Kongtteok) is a game in which three people become the reels of a slot machine and try to get in sync with one another.
Three players each stand behind their own window and hold up a random sign handed to them by the host. If all three pictures match, they win!
Winners received vouchers for the Deundeun Tteok House and the Smile-Filled Supermarket. But even those who didn't win had no reason to feel disappointed, because dried persimmon strips and barley bread were there to soothe the letdown.
