[2020-0512] On May 12 (Tue), Sundaytoz (CEO Jungsub Kim, www.sundaytoz.comannounced their earnings from the first quarter of 2020.

The first quarter earnings results of 28.4 billion KRW in sales, 2.9 billion KRW in operating profit, and 7.9 billion KRW in short term net profit were significant jumps of 5.9% in sales, 261% in operating profit, and 373% in short term net profit from the previous quarter. Analysis shows that this is the result of solid sales of major games both domestically and overseas, and the reduction of marketing costs due to the successful launch of "Disney Pop Town" in overseas markets in the fourth quarter of last year.

This year's first quarter earnings jumped 41% in sales, 49% in operating profit, and 176% in short term net profit from the previous year's winter quarter, showing rapid progress from the overseas and advertising sales established within the span of one year. Short term net profit, especially recorded the highest earnings since the first quarter of 2015 because of the 70% growth of the high margin advertising business from the previous year, reduced marketing cost due to the stabilization of the overseas businesses, and other return on investment. In addition, the company explained that the overseas businesses have been proven competitive as they accounted for 40% of the sales in the first quarter of the year.

"We will introduce various games in the domestic and overseas markets starting from the second quarter," said a Sundaytoz official, "We expect diversified sales and an expanded customer base in both domestic and overseas markets by adding new titles to the current popular ones."

Starting with the mid-second quarter launch of "Disney Pop Town" in Thailand, Sundaytoz plans to launch a number of new titles in both domestic and overseas markets including "Anipang 4" and "BT21 Pop Star," a collaborative project with Cartoon Network.
