Smilegate announced on the 26th (Thu), that Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN), the roguelike RPG developed by Super Creative and published by Smilegate, has been selected as the 2025 “Best New ACG Game” at the “APAC Awards” hosted by global data intelligence company Sensor Tower.

Held annually since 2022, the Sensor Tower APAC Awards select and recognize titles that have demonstrated outstanding performance among games and applications launched over the past year by companies headquartered in the APAC (Asia & Pacific) region, based on Sensor Tower’s extensive data and insights.

According to Sensor Tower, following its official launch on October 22, 2025, CZN recorded approximately $40 million in revenue on mobile platforms alone within just three months, becoming the highest-grossing newly released original ACG IP (intellectual property) worldwide in 2025. In explaining the reason for its selection, Sensor Tower stated that CZN “captivated players worldwide with its distinctive psychological horror-themed lore and strategic turn-based combat system,” adding that “its overwhelming performance in the Japanese, U.S., and Taiwanese markets demonstrates the strong commercial potential of an original dark fantasy IP backed by high-quality production capabilities.”

Meanwhile, since February 4, CZN has been rolling out updates for Season 2 of its story-based seasonal content “Galactic Disaster.” In particular, the introduction of new systems designed to further enhance CZN’s unique roguelike experience, along with various quality-of-life improvements, has been receiving positive feedback from players. The team is also continuing active communication efforts through live broadcasts and Developer Notes led by Live Director Choi Seunghyun.

Kim Joo Hyung, Head of Business at Smilegate, stated, “All of CZN’s achievements have been possible thanks to the support of our players. We sincerely want to express our gratitude. The entire development team is doing its best to help CZN grow into an even more enjoyable and polished title. We ask for your continued support and enthusiasm as we strive to live up to the expectations you have placed in us.”
